NDA Hosted 2011 Golf Tournament
National Deaf Academy Hosts 10th Annual Mount Dora Police and Fire Golf Tournament
The National Deaf Academy in Mount Dora, Florida hosted the 10th Annual Police and Fire Golf Tournament for the second straight year on April 8th, 2011. The National Deaf Academy was invited in as a sponsor in 2010, and more than pleased to be involved for a second year in an event that raises funds for the Memorial of Local Fallen Heroes of both the Police and Fire Departments.
The event was held at the Country Club of Mount Dora and hosted 144 golfers, a full field for the second year in a row. NDA and the Police and Fire Departments reached their goal of raising over $25,000 for the Memorial Fund. Universal Health Services also contributed largely to the success of this event; donations were sent and golf groups participated from University Behavioral Center, Central Florida Behavioral Health, Windmoor Healthcare, Behavioral Educational Services, Wekiva Springs Hospital and River Point Behavioral Health.
“The National Deaf Academy strives to provide quality care for individuals who are Deaf and Hard of hearing as well as unique services for those with Varying Exceptionalities across the United States. This event is a great opportunity for us to focus on our local community, and give back to those who help us day in and day out,” Chief Executive Officer, Deana Goldstein.
